Work with stakeholders to develop and execute Global category strategies for Professional Services spend which deliver improved value for money, reduce risk, improve quality and service as well as develop and deliver a procurement plan which meets or exceeds targets and expectations.  Through excellent leadership and communications skills, the Global Category Manager will ensure that cross functional business opportunities are actively embraced.   

  • Analyse global spend, benchmark category trends, create multi -year strategic sourcing strategies and implement programs that provide a competitive advantage.
  • Develop, negotiate and manage contracts and suppliers for the category through supplier scorecards, periodic business reviews; measuring contract compliance and other key metrics to ensure targets are being met, system data is updated timely and accurately and value is being delivered to the business under the supply agreements.
  • Work with key business partners and senior leadership team to gain a clear understanding of the strategic direction and supply requirements, priorities to ensure category buy in.
  • Interact with operational procurement teams, to identify best approach for handling operational transactions to lower administrative costs, add accountability, controls and drive efficiencies.
  • Analyse and continuously monitor market and industry data to insure programs remain competitive throughout the agreement period.  Generate market reports for stakeholders and ExCo/Leadership Teams.
  • Lead and/or facilitate cross-functional teams to continually assess business requirements and align supply base and resources to drive savings results for the company on a year over year basis.
  • Utilize available sourcing tools and technologies to conduct spend analysis, eSourcing, contract and supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing activities.
  • Provide periodic category updates to leadership team detailing key supplier initiatives, savings to target and category spend & trend analysis.
  • Provide regular and appropriate category communications to stakeholders to ensure the business has an understanding of industry best practices, trends and category knowledge.
  • Seek alternate and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, challenge requirements and specifications to create competitive advantage.
  • Ensure savings targets and reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.
