Job Description 

This position will be responsible for supporting sourcing and spend analysis activities for its assigned projects and categories. The Sourcing Analyst reports to the Manager/Supervisor of Sourcing /Spend Analytics and will be frequently deployed to support Sourcing Managers for discreet sourcing projects and must have strong analytical capabilities. This position will work closely with its direct management, sourcing managers, as well as key customers.


Responsibilities 

Strategic Sourcing Execution: 

Provides support for Sourcing Managers as they execute sourcing projects to identify products and services at the best total value for the companies system including: 

  • Performing detailed data analysis in support of category sourcing events and initiatives 
  • Utilizing and supporting internal database applications and analytical tools, evaluating data quality, and producing outputs as requested 
  • Developing technical efficiency with spend analysis and visibility tools to create spend reports 
  • Conducting market and supplier research in support of sourcing strategies 
  • Developing, maintaining , and analyzing Request for Information and Request for Proposal documentation in support of sourcing initiatives 
  • Developing technical efficiency with Ariba sourcing software, including customized sourcing sites for each event and providing technical support to vendors 
  • Assisting with the development of Request for Information and Request for Proposal scoring models for sourcing initiatives 
  • Creating and maintaining project workplans for associated projects 
  • Preparing executive level presentations that drive decision-making in an easy to understand format 

Savings Tracking and Reporting: 

  • Calculating and presenting quarterly cost savings results to department leadership 
  • Assisting in the creation of yearly cost savings projections 
  • Developing category/supplier dashboards 

Minimum Requirements 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Supply Chain, or related fields 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • High degree of proficiency in Excel or similar analytical tools 
  • Able to obtain and filter data from databases (Oracle, Access, Excel, etc) utilizing SQL, Excel logic, Access logic/visual basic 
  • Capable of organizing data in a logical manner 
  • Skilled at drawing a conclusion from the data utilizing pivot tables, linear regression, statistical methods, or trend charting 
  • Proficient at communicating conclusions to leadership in clear and concise manner (graphs, charts, PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to problem solve and search for answers using internal and external network/sources 
  • Organized and able to effectively manage a number of responsibilities/projects at once 

People/Relationship Management 

  • Capable of working effectively in multi-disciplinary team 
  • Demonstrated ability to self-start, determining work steps based upon management direction
