Position Description
The Logistics Analyst is responsible for managing transportation flow from order placement to final carrier payment. This person will be assigned to a region, shipment type (inbound/outbound) or mode which will vary on the size and complexity of the shipper. They will act as the interface to our customer, material supplier, transport supplier and/or end customer. Key responsibilities include order planning, optimization, exception management, freight pay resolution, and identifying operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Process and monitor orders from placement to payment
- Take action on any deviations to the process
- Build relationships with customer contacts to execute day to day transportation needs
- Manage and execute short lead shipments
- Manage shipment activity board on a routine basis and ensure all tasks are completed and accurate in the TMS
- Manage exceptions within the customer’s supply network and work with the customer, transportation service providers, and any other relevant third party to mitigate the impact of any issues
- Identify cost savings opportunities (route guide optimization, order consolidation, lead time compliance, etc.)
- Identify and implement operational efficiency gains
- Make customer service a differentiator: respond to all changes submitted from the customer in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide prompt and professional response to customer requests for additional information
- Achieve tactical and operational KPI targets (Quality and Productivity Metrics)
- Collaborate on specific tasks with TMC Central Operations and/or CSR teams (if applicable)
- Manage reconciliation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
- Responsible for executing and maintaining a daily reporting routine
- Collect, sort and distribute operational information to the team
- Willingness to work with more than one customer when there is a business need
